THE CERTIFICATE QUESTION

Three examples to start with :

1. Hi! I am thinking of joining your one week retreat in Bali. I would like to know if I will be able to do professional treatments after completion of the course and if we will get a certificate?

2. Do the 50 hours provide a certificate that is valid for getting insurance to practice thai massage on the public, or is this just an introductory course ?

3.Hello! I am interested in taking the 50 hr course in Morocco. I already have training in Thai massage, but am looking to dive into more . Does the certification hold up in the United States? I didn't see a certification body that the course was registered under. Do know that the NCBTMB tends to count a certain amount of hours from non-affiliated courses, but I thought I would inquire.

We get this kind of questions often and thought it would be a good idea to share our thoughts on this matter.

Our answer to the certificate question is: Yes!

We give you a certificate of attendance with the number of hours done during our different courses or retreats.

We get frequent inquiries from students asking if this certificate is recognized in their country towards obtaining a massage license. Unfortunately, we cannot answer this question.

EvaSion ThaiYoga has students in many countries around the world. Laws and regulations are different in all of them, ranging from no rules to very strict rules. In addition, rules can differ within the same country.

For example in the US, all 50 states have their own rules. Some countries have different rules for Thai Massage than for other types of massage. It also depends on what exactly you are planning to do with your Massage experience.

Personally, we do not connect with this “certification fever” in a fast learning society, where you can go from zero to hero in such a short time. In many disciplines like Yoga, Massage or NLP, you can get an official “certificate” in only a few days, stating that you are entitled to charge for a massage or to teach Yoga. You can even get an official certificate as a massage therapist with a one-week online course....amazing, right?

We believe that to master any art you need true passion, dedication, and lots of hours of practice and commitment, and unfortunately, you can't get this with a certificate. As our loved teacher Pichet from Thailand puts it: “Buddha, the greatest Master... but has no certificate!!”

OK, so what do we offer in our courses?

Our courses will provide you with a solid foundation in ThaiYoga massage, summarizing the teachings acquired during years from renowned teachers and schools from Thailand and all over the world; Presented in a modern and easy to understand way, combining bodywork, ergonomy, Buddhism and mindful living. This will enable you to offer up to 2 hours full body treatments to your family, friends or clients.

But, if you are looking to do a professional career in ThaiYoga Massage, you should foresee a learning process of at least 2 years, taking some other courses, maybe some in Thailand, and to give at least 100 tretments to master your touch during that time.

We are offering you retreats where the completed hours, levels and stamps are not the only reason to join. You will benefit from the experience that EvaSion, her assistants and the other conscious students coming to the retreat create together, and they are unique every single time. Be aware that ThaiYoga Massage, just as Yoga, is a way of life, that involves spiritual practices and social and communication skills. We need to dive into meditation to improve our levels of awareness in daily life and quiet our mind when giving a treatment. Becoming conscious that we are dealing with other human beings, working from the heart for the wellbeing of people, with a deep respect for the many situations that as a therapist we will be dealing with. Is during the retreats that we learn and experience these aspects.

For this reason, our courses are limited to small groups of not more than 16 people, to ensure a high level of education. We want you to leave the retreat with a perfect orientation to approach your practice from a better place.
